New Rochelle Store Enjoys Thanksgiving Work

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – While the majority of the population might dread the idea of working on Thanksgiving Day, Quaker Ridge Shopping Center A&P Fresh Customer Service Representative Kristi Palmieri, always finds passion in serving customers at the store on the actual day.

“I want to be here for the last minute customers,” she said. “Customers always come first.” Palmieri always looks forward to the duty of working on the all-American holiday.

“It’s a great atmosphere from everyone who works and customers a like,” she said.

In addition to assisting customers, the store also serves the community, especially on the national holiday. Palmieri will be available to customers along with 19 other employees helping customers obtain last minute items as they prepare for feasts with their families and or friends.

“The spirit is high,” she said. Palmieri is working a half day schedule from  7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will then go home and spend quality time with her family so it all works out.

Shoppers were already coming into the store for last-minute shopping Wednesday, but more was expected Thursday just in time to be helped by Palmieri and the rest of her fellow co-workers.

In addition to places of business that are open on Thanksgiving Day, there are those that are closed until Monday including New Rochelle City Hall, and City of New Rochelle school district buildings and offices. The New Rochelle Library will be closed Thursday but will resume operations Friday.
