NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The city of New Rochelle will be using federal grant money to establish a program to help get homeless people into permanent housing, according to lohud.com.

According to Lohud, New Rochelle wants to use a $306,189 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to establish a rent-assistance program in an effort to find housing for the homeless that would start in 2016.
