New Rochelle Schools Closed; Public Library Open

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. –As New Rochelle continues to recover in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, here’s a list of what’s open and closed on Thursday.

  • New Rochelle public and private schools are closed.
  • Iona College has canceled classes and advises students to go to their families if they can. The office of student activities will provide activities for students who stay.
  • The College of New Rochelle is closed.
  • Monroe College has resumed classes.
  • The New Rochelle Public Library and City Hall is open to serve residents. The Huguenot Children’s Library is closed because of a power outage. 
  • New Rochelle’s Hudson Park is closed.
  • The New Rochelle YMCA is closed due to a power outage.
