NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – New Rochelle school officials, government officials, and residents gathered on Tuesday to remember Amy O’Doherty’s life.

The Barnard School held its 11th anniversary 9/11 Memorial Ceremony and Brick Unveiling, at Amy’s Greenhouse in honor of retired teacher Geraldine Davie’s daughter.

“We push forward. We move on. That’s what we do.” said Davie.

The greenhouse is a living memorial to O'Doherty who was 23 when she was killed at the World Trade Center.

After initially receiving flowers and gifts, Davie said she wanted something more permanent and constructive for her daughter’s memory.

She decided to ask for donations for the creation of a greenhouse in her daughter’s name.
