New Rochelle Library Events Include Film, Budget Vote

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The New Rochelle Library has a host of special events upcoming, including the screening of the film "To Begin the World Over Again: The Life of Thomas Paine," on Saturday, May 14.

The film, which begins at 3 p.m. in the Ossie Davis Theater, is a rare historical drama that addresses a multitude of contemporary issues of today.

Admission is free. Made possible by the Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library.

In other news: 

  • The New Rochelle Public Library Board of Trustee election and budget vote, as well as the New Rochelle Board of Education election, budget, and bond vote will be held on Tuesday, May 17. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. 
  •  The annual 'Our Children, Our Artists' exhibit, featuring works by New Rochelle middle and high school students, will open on Wednesday, May 18.
