The cameras are at the intersections of North and Lincoln avenues, Main Street and North Avenue, and Main Street and Weyman Avenue, reported lohud.com.

The number of cameras will increase to a dozen after an initial period of evaluation, said lohud.com.

City Manager Chick Strome said the cameras' use is based on safety and traffic accident data and not to generate revenue, reported lohud.com.
