NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - The Iona College men's basketball team learned Sunday that it will play Ohio State in the opening round of the NCAA men's basketball tournament Friday in Dayton, Ohio.
The Gaels players joined coaches, staff, family members, fans and students at the school's Mulcahy Gymnasium to hear the NCAA tournament selection committee's picks via CBS-TV broadcast Sunday evening.
Iona is the No. 15 seed and Big 10 champion Ohio State (26-7) is a No. 2 seed in the West Region bracket.
The Gaels (20-13) won the MAAC tournament last winter and were eliminated in the first round of the 2012 NCAA tournament by Brigham Young.
