Looking to catch a train to New York City on Thursday for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade or to go shopping on Friday?
Check the Metro-North holiday schedule for service changes this holiday weekend before you head out to the train station.
On Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 23, Metro-North will operate a modified weekend schedule with additional inbound trains for everyone heading to the Macy's Thanksgiving Holiday Parade.
And there will be plenty of additional outbound service to get you home for dinner.
On the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, Nov. 24, a Saturday schedule will be in effect with additional AM inbound and PM outbound trains for shoppers taking advantage of Black Friday sales and those enjoying the holiday decorations.
On Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 25 and 26, Metro-North will operate on regular weekend schedules with additional Shoppers' Specials trains.
Off-peak fares are in effect for the entire four-day holiday period from Thursday through Sunday.
Riders are also urged to use the MTA eTix app or to buy tickets in advance. Thanksgiving is the busiest travel day of the year, and those leaving New York after the parade must have tickets before boarding a train at Grand Central or Harlem-125th Street Station.
