NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. Alma Mejjia is usually off Wednesdays and this week she enjoyed her free time with her son Jayden and a trip to the beach.
"He loves the beach so it's nice," she said.
Mejia said she has no issues with the Sound and was enjoying her time at the Glen Island Beach.
"It's pretty clean," she said.
The Glen Island Beach is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Park users must have a county park pass for admission.
"Pretty much everyone has to pay," said James Melendez, who was working at the ticket booth Wednesday. "It's a nice park. A lot of people come here."
