Early Morning Robbery Caps New Rochelle Weekend

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. –  Items were taken from a man as he entered his apartment building shortly before 2 a.m. Monday morning, according to New Rochelle Police Department Capt. and Public Information Officer Joseph Schaller.

The 20 year-old New Rochelle resident said he was approached from behind at gunpoint by someone wearing a light blue New York Giants shirt and Giants hat after entering the lobby of the apartment building at 71 First St.

Four people were arrested after police said they kicked a 43 year-old woman to the ground at 102 Union Ave. Sunday. The victim was taken to Sound Shore Medical Center. Jasmine Carrillo was charged with criminal intent to damage property and third degree assault with intent to cause physical injury, police said. Maria Carrillo, Veronica Coyt, and Larisa Hernandez were charged with third degree assault with intent to cause physical injury.

Various saws and power tools were taken during a burglary from a residence under construction at 645 Pinebrook Blvd. early Saturday morning. Both individuals were apprehended by New Rochelle police after being tracked down by officers. Ramiro Rodriguez-Campos and Miguel Hernandez were charged with second degree burglary and fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property after officers located each on different city streets.

A New Rochelle resident said $500 was taken from him at 11 p.m. Friday night outside of 434 North Ave. The man said he was approached by an individual who hit him on the left side of his face.

Four containers of baby formula was taken from CVS Pharmacy at 309 Main St. Saturday, police said. A 30-year-old heavyset man made off with the items after a brief interruption, according to police. The man was stopped by a store security guard who attempted to grab the man's bag of items from him after he tried to leave the store.
