Driver Charged in New Rochelle I-95 Crash

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The wrong-way driver in a horrific head-on crash on I-95 that killed a New Jersey man early Sunday morning has been charged with one count of manslaughter.

Tanisha Gomez, 26, of Pennsylvania was charged and arraigned Tuesday at Jacobi Medical Center, where she is still being treated for her injuries.

Gomez was driving in the wrong direction on I-95 when her 2011 Chevrolet slammed head-on into a 2005 Nissan, traveling southbound by Mark Toppin, 29, of New Jersey. Reginald Lee, Toppin's passenger, later died.
