Demonstration Outside of CVS on North Avenue

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - A carpenter's union gathered Monday morning outside CVS on North Avenue to protest unfair wages.

Equipped with signs and whistles, the workers circled a 30-foot stretch in front of the building that CVS planned to move into.

The streets of North Avenue were desolate Monday morning, yet the noise of dozens of whistles echoed from Main Street to Huguenot Street in what sounded like an alien invasion.

Demonstraters were advised not to speak to this reporter until a media representative of the Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters, the group holding the protest, could contact The Daily New Rochelle first.
