SCARSDALE, N.Y. Joe Clarke scored 15 points and the New Rochelle boys basketball team opened a 10-point halftime lead en route to a 53-40 victory over host Scarsdale.
The Huguenots evened their early-season record at 1-1 and Scarsdale fell to 2-1.
Clarke, a standout 6-3 lineman and receiver for the New Rochelle football team, made the transition to basketball after helping lead the Huguenots to an 8-2 record on the football field.
Kirkland Ottey scored 13 and Malik Burts added nine for New Rochelle.
Scarsdale was led by Jack Hewitt, who scored 14 points, and Greg Scacchi, who contributed 12 points.
