NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Rotted wooden window frames may have been the cause of a partial building collapse Saturday on 234 Drake Ave. in New Rochelle, according to a report by the Journal News.
Before the building’s 13 tenants may return, it needs to be evaluated by a structural engineer.
Red Cross personnel helped the families arrange temporary lodging after the building was evacuated Saturday morning. There is no time frame for when tenants may return to their apartments, according to the report.
