Be Aware Of New Rochelle Thanksgiving Parade Traffic

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The city of New Rochelle has issued a traffic advisory for Saturday's Thanksgiving Parade, and reminds residents of other events connected with Thanksgiving.

The community was in full force for New Rochelle's 51st Annual Thanksgiving parade in 2014.

The 52nd annual Valenti New Rochelle Thanksgiving Parade will kick off at 10 a.m. on North Avenue at Eastchester Road, continuing down North to Main Street and then on Main to Maple Avenue.

Temporary street closures and detours will be in effect along the entire parade route and in the surrounding area, so plan travel accordingly. Note that cars parked illegally on the route will be towed.

In addition, the Maple Avenue parking lot will be inaccessible from 10 a.m. to noon.

Just before the parade on Saturday morning, enjoy another family friendly event -- the Annual Pancake Breakfast, sponsored by the Fund for Educational Excellence, at New Rochelle High School, a short walk from the parade start.

Finally, remember that during Thanksgiving Week, garbage and recycling will only be picked up once.
