Volunteer on National Martin Luther King, Jr. Day through "Volunteer New York!," a community-wide day of service.
The MLK Day of Service empowers individuals, strengthens communities, bridges barriers, creates solutions to social problems, and moves everyone closer to Dr. King’s vision of a beloved community.
This is an easy way to volunteer as a family/group and impart lessons about the importance of giving back and volunteering at an early age. The minimum age for youth who volunteer with their family or guardian typically may range from 4 -16.
Family-friendly opportunities are available to families who wish to volunteer together during Days of Service, in the areas of:
- Disaster & Emergency Services
- Family Services
- Hunger & Homelessness
- Civic & Community
- Children & Youth Education
- Health & Wellness
- Senior Services
