Swift was the head lacrosse coach and assistant swim coach at New Rochelle High School for almost 10 years. He is the principal at Port Chester Middle School, which he joined in 2000 as assistant principal. Swift and wife Jacki, purchased a home in New Rochelle in 2001.
Swift and a group of parents began a youth lacrosse program when son Michael became of lacrosse age. The program began in 2011 with 70 children and is currently approaching 300 players.
The program started the "Eric Tutera Youth Lacrosse Scholarship Program," named in honor of a former New Rochelle High School lacrosse captain Swift coached. Tutera died in an accident in the spring of 2008.
“We are dedicated to benefiting the youth of New Rochelle through our 'needs blind' philosophy which pledges to make lacrosse affordable to all children regardless of ability to pay," said Swift.
Swift also serves on the New Rochelle Lightning Hockey board and has coached swimming at the Country Club of Darien for 25 years.
