New Rochelle's Andrew Cohen, 8, Wins A Golden Star Award

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Eight-year-old Andrew Cohen, a New Rochelle resident who has twice defeated cancer, recently received a Golden Star Award, according to a press release.

Cohen and 10 other children were honored Monday at Solving Kids’ Cancer’s gala in New York City.

More than 200 people attended or participated in the event, including actor Josh Lucas, fashion designer Donna Karan, and New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist.

Lucas, whose film credits include “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Red Dog,” and “J. Edgar,” presented the awards to the children.

Cohen takes hip-hop dancing lessons, has a yellow belt in tae kwon do, and enjoys jumping on his trampoline.

He also likes to play video games with his two brothers, Lucas, 13, and Ethan, 11.
