NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Students from both Albert Leonard and Isaac E. Young middle schools recently participated in Full STEAM Ahead, a program that showcased a year's worth of in-depth, multidisciplinary learning across science, technology, engineering, the arts and math.
Sixth-graders explored the dangers of "text neck"; seventh-graders analyzed climate change; and eighth-graders investigated numerous applications of technology.
The initiative represents a focused districtwide approach to fully and meaningfully integrating these core lessons into every classroom, K-12.
Associate Superintendent Diane Massimo, project chair Joyce Kent and the New Rochelle Fund for Educational Excellence led this effort for all the district's middle school students.
