Olivia Moxey, the winner of the State Senate's 35th District contest, was congratulated Thursday, May 19, by New York State Senate Democratic Conference Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins.

A total of 120 students in state Sen. Stewart-Cousins' district from kindergarten through the sixth grade participated in the contest, which focused on the theme, "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle."

"Olivia's colorful and thoughtful message to recycle and 'save the earth' is one that we should all embrace," Stewart-Cousins said. "I congratulate Olivia and all of the participants in this year's contest. I also commend the parents and teachers for their involvement and efforts to encourage our children to be creative and environmentally conscious."
