New Rochelle Student Wins Earth Day Poster Contest, Gets Visit from Senator

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- New York State Senate Democratic Conference Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins visited Albert Leonard Middle School in New Rochlle to congratulate sixth-grader Olivia Moxey for being selected as the 2016 Earth Day poster contest winner.

A total of 120 grade K-6 students from the senator's 35th Senate District participated in the contest, which focused on the theme of "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle."

"Olivia's colorful and thoughtful message to recycle and 'save the earth' is one that we should all embrace," said Stewart-Cousins. "I congratulate Olivia and all of the participants in this year's contest. I also commend the parents and teachers for their involvement and efforts to encourage our children to be creative and environmentally conscious."
