New Rochelle School District Celebrates We Are One Ceremony

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Teachers, administrators and staff who are dedicated to helping children with special needs were honored Thursday at the We Are One celebration sponsored by The New Rochelle Education PTA (SEPTA).

The Bridges Community Award honors an individual or organization who makes a difference in the life of a New Rochelle child with special needs. 

Mayor Noam Bramson received the prestigious Bridges award and New Rochelle High School junior Michael Apollo, Jr. accepted SEPTA's first Bridges student award. 

Award recipients also included Karen Johnson, Albert Leonard Middle School; Joanna Genovese, Barnard School; Andy Thomas, Columbus School; Heather Cayanan, Davis School; Kenny Phillips and Corrine Olari, Isaac E. Young Middle School; Jillian Alli, Jefferson School; Donna Masi, New Rochelle High School; Steve Spady, Trinity School; Corey Andrews, Ward School; and Andrea Bambace, Webster School.
