New Rochelle Residents Are Leadership Graduates

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The Volunteer Center of United Way and more than 120 supporters gathered June 28 at the Gateway Center at Westchester Community College in Valhalla to celebrate the 2012 Leadership Westchester Graduation.

This years graduates included three residents from New Rochelle, Joan Taylor, Nancy Levin, and Paula Wedlaw. Leadership Westchester, a unique educational curriculum intended to provide leadership skills to individuals seeking positions of influence, gave this year’s Alumnus of the Year Award to Albert Rogers of New York Life.

Rogers was honored for his leadership as chairman of the board of directors of the Volunteer Center of United Way for more than two terms in office.

The Leadership Westchester program has been active for 17 years. Many of its graduates have gone on to leadership positions in business, public and nonprofit sectors and have become members of the Leadership Westchester Alumni Association.
