NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Toby Jo Haynes, a former New Rochelle school district reading teacher, died Dec. 5 at the age of 66.
She was born Mar. 20, 1945 to the later Louis M. and Miriam Klein. A resident of Harrison, Haynes worked as a reading specialist in the City School District of New Rochelle for 38 years. She was known throughout for her encouragement of each child's individuality.
Haynes also served as the former secretary for the Harrison Children's Center. She is remembered by family and friends for her infinite dedication and loyalty.
Memorial services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home in Mamaroneck. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a scholarship in her name, with details provided by her immediate family.
