New Rochelle Public Library Foundation Sponsors Short Video Contest

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The “I Found It At The Library” Short Video Contest is open to New Rochelle residents with a $1,000 first-place prize sponsored by the New Rochelle Public Library Foundation.

The library is looking for a 60- to 90-second videos with the theme “I Found It At The Library.” The contest is open to New Rochelle residents in grades 9-12 with a first prize of $1,000, second prize of $500 and third prize of $250.

Deadline for submissions is midnight Monday, Sept. 7. The winning videos will be screened and prizes will be awarded Oct. 11 at the Ossie Davis Theater as part of the foundation’s donor recognition day. The winning videos also will be posted on the foundation and library websites and used in social media.

All entries will be screened and judged by a panel of New Rochelle industry stars, including Tom Honeysett, broadcast editor for CBS’s "60 Minutes," Evan Klupt, director of production for NBC's "Today Show" and David Saperstein, author of the New York Times bestseller and Academy Award-winning film "Cocoon."

Contest participants are encouraged to attend three free video-making workshops at the library this summer. To download the complete guidelines and entry form, please visit the foundation’s website.
