Superheroes and the actors who play them take the spotlight in this behind-the-scenes journey through the world’s superhero movies and television shows of the past 70 years. Thirty-five interviews draw readers into the perspective of the actors and actresses playing Batman, Spider-Man, Superman, Supergirl, the Hulk, Captain America, Batgirl, Catwoman, Loki, Agent Phil Coulson, Wonder Woman and many more.

Edlitz has written for the Huffington Post, the Los Angles Times’ “Hero Complex,” Moviefone, Sirius/XM Radio’s Slice of Sci Fi and Empire magazine online. He also produced and directed a "Star Wars" documentary, "Jedi Junkies," and he has worked as a writer-producer for ABC News and the National Geographic Channel.

Edlitz went to Davis Elementary School in New Rochelle. His mother still lives in New Rochelle, and his sister is a teacher there.

"How to Be a Superhero," with a foreword by David Mamet, was published June 15 and is 588 pages, with 70 photos and illustrations. It sells for $32.95.
