New Rochelle Library Events Include Scrapbooking, Twain House Tour

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The New Rochelle Public Library has announced several upcoming events for the community, including a scrapbooking workshop and a visit to the Mark Twain House.

A group trip to the Mark Twain House in Hartford, Conn., will be on Wednesday. Guided tours of the 1874 house, time in the museum, lunch and guided tours of the neighboring Harriet Beecher Stowe House are all included with the $60 ticket. The bus leaves at 9 a.m. and returns around 6 p.m. To purchase a ticket, please call 914-813-3706.

A family scrapbooking workshop will be on Thursday, June 18, at 4 p.m. in honor of scrapbooker Mark Twain. Teacher and artist is Wendy Podell. The free workshop is suitable for all ages and will take place in the library's meeting room. No registration is required.

The New Rochelle Art Association Jules Bauer Award Show is on display until Thursday, June 25. The public reception is Friday, June 12, from 5:15-6:30 p.m. The library will be closed on Sundays beginning June 7.
