On Saturday, April 25, it’ll be blondes versus brunettes – with a few free agent red heads thrown in for good measure – squaring off on the gridiron at the New Rochelle High School as they continue raising money to help battle the deadly disease.
Blondes vs. Brunettes, a nationwide fundraiser, pits two teams of women - separated by the infamous rivalry between the two hair colors - who seek donations from friends and family that come out to see them play. As of 6 p.m. Thursday afternoon, nearly $10,000 had been raised, approximately half of the stated goal.
Gates for the game will open at 1 p.m. April 25, with revenue from tailgating events, ticket purchases, donations and boosters all benefitting the Hudson Valley Alzheimer’s Association. The game will feature spirited announcers, volunteer coaches, male cheerleaders and, of course, two teams of fierce females facing off in on the field.
Those looking to donate to the Blondes vs. Brunettes fundraiser to benefit Alzheimer’s research can do so here. Anyone interested in registering can do so here.
