Merle Pearson, 73, New Rochelle Pharmacist

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Merle Cynthia Pearson, 73, of New Rochelle, died April 21. 

She was born Oct. 23, 1938 in Trinidad and Tobago. A pharmacist, Pearson was educated in her native country of Trinidad. She immigrated to Canada in 1963, where she worked at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Toronto General. She married Christopher George Pearson Dec. 18, 1971. 

Pearson them immigrated to the United States in 1972 and settled in New Rochelle, where she lived at the same address for 39 years. She worked at New York University Medical Center and Montefiore Medical Center for 26 years, until she became ill. 

She is survived by her husband, Christopher; and her daughter, Melba Pearson-Mecham. 

There will be a funeral service Friday at Trinity St. Paul's Episcopal Church in New Rochelle. Lloyd Maxcy and Sons Beauchamp Chapel, in New Rochelle, is handling arrangements.
