James Williams, 90, New Rochelle WWII Veteran

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – James Frank Williams of New Rochelle died May 14. He was 90.

Born July 15, 1921 in Seneca, N.C., he was the son of James and Daisy Webb Williams. Affectionately known as "Homie," Williams attended public schools in Seneca. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and married Ann Williams.

Prior to living in New Rochelle, he was former resident of Tuckahoe and Mt. Vernon. Williams was employed by International Operating Engineers Local 137 for many years.

William is survived by three nephews, six nieces and their children. He is also survived by cousins, including Eldridge Frazier of Funkstown, Md., and Ronald Williams of New Rochelle. He was predeceased by his wife, Ann, in 1997.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at Barney T. McClanahan Funeral Home in New Rochelle. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, N.Y.
