Andrea Mitchell, who was raised in New Rochelle, turns 68 on Thursday.
Mitchell, a television journalist, anchor, reporter and commentator for NBC News, was born Oct. 30, 1946. She is the NBC News chief foreign affairs correspondent, and reported on the 2008 presidential campaign for NBC News broadcasts, including NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, Today, and MSNBC.
In 2005, Mitchell published a book, "Talking Back... to Presidents, Dictators, and Assorted Scoundrels," chronicling her work as a journalist. Since 2008 Mitchell has hosted a program on NBC's news and commentary channel MSNBC, Andrea Mitchell Reports.
She is the wife of Alan Greenspan, former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board.
