The event has been a CNR tradition since 1972, and is organized by the school's undergraduate students. The idea of a strawberry festival dates back to the 1890s, where people in the Midwest celebrated the coming of summer, the ripening of the strawberry crop and the yearly blossoming of lilacs.
The CNR version of the festival featured outdoor activities, music, entertainment and strawberry treats for the families.
Activities included something for everybody: a bounce house, climbing rock, giant slide, face painting, sports challenge, dunk tank, water game challenge, henna tattoos and more.
