NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - A Veteran’s group in New Rochelle is taking measures to honor some of their brothers in arms that paid the ultimate price in the Vietnam War.
At this week’s City Council meeting, New Rochelle officials unanimously voted in favor of accepting a gift from the United Veterans Memorial and Patriotic Association to construct a monument in front of City Hall honoring those that served in Vietnam.
The proposed monument will flank the existing World War II Memorial in front of City Hall. Once it is installed, the city will be responsible for maintenance of the new monument.
The proposed monument will stand at six-feet tall, reading “All Gave Some - Some Gave All,” with an image of three American soldiers in the foreground and an American flag in the background.
