The restaurant's mainstay is seafood for a couple of reasons owner Pepe Manigault told The New York Times.

He wanted to enjoy seafood closer to home, instead of having to drive to where it is plentiful in New York like City Island, and he wants it when he has a "craving" for seafood, according to New York Times.

While many dishes there originate from Manigault's cooking background, his inspiration comes from his mom, he told The New York Times.

The owner also credits his parents with raising him to be polite so "customer service" is a "simple playbook," according to The New York Times.

The New York Times called his establishment "an effortlessly friendly place."
