NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- New Rochelle's Alvin & Friends Restaurant is celebrating the film "Best Man Holiday" in many ways.
The director of the film, Malcolm Lee, is a New Rochelle resident and one of the restaurant's "friends" or investors. The film also includes seven of restaurant owner Alvin Clayton's Matisse-inspired paintings. The restaurant is honoring the film’s success with a “Dinner-and-a-Movie” Special, a $49.95 prix fixe menu that includes a three-course meal and a ticket to Regal New Roc Cinema.
The special menu includes the choice of an appetizer (Soup of the Day or Caesar Wedge Salad), choice of an entrée (“Westchester’s Best” Fried Chicken with Mac & Cheese, Slow-Cooked Greens or Crispy Fried Catfish with Ground Grits, Black-Eyed Peas, Remoulade Emulsion or Braised Oxtail Stew with Peas and Rice, Cabbage) and choice of dessert (Coconut Cheesecake or Amaretto Bread Pudding).
Alvin & Friends, named by Westchester Magazine as one of the “Best of Westchester 2013,” is at 14 Memorial Highway in New Rochelle.
