New Rochelle Parents, Adolescents Learn Strategies In Family University

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- A variety of parent and student workshops to address adolescent development and strategies to promote their healthy development is offered in the Seventh Annual Family University program on March 14.

An evening of speakers and workshops for middle and high school students and their parents is set for March 14 at New Rochelle High School.

The program brings together students and their parents with the goal of increasing awareness of the protective factors that promote the healthy development of our youth. 

Co-sponsored by New Rochelle Families Organized to Curb the Use of Substances and New York Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital, the event will offer workshops for middle and high school students and the following key speakers:

  • Mark Sterner: DUI: A Powerful Lesson
  • Tei Street: Voices in the Void
  • Shaun Derik: Dreams and Detours.

Translation in Spanish will be available.

The cost is $5; light dinner included.

Family University will run 5:30 to 9 p.m. at New Rochelle High School, 265 Clove Road, New Rochelle.
