New Rochelle Flavors Showcased At Local Food And Wine Festival

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – The village of Scarsdale has some big plans for Westchester foodies.

The first Southern Westchester Food and Wine Festival is scheduled for Sept. 22 and will showcase food and wine from Ardsley, Bronxville, Dobbs Ferry, Eastchester, Hartsdale, Harrison, Irvington, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, New Rochelle, Pelham, Pelham Manor, Port Chester, Purchase, Rye Town, Rye Brook, Rye City, Scarsdale, Tuckahoe and White Plains.

The festival will take place in the Chase Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m and is expected to draw more than 5,000 people to the village. Local vendors are expected to benefit from the increased traffic and may even participate with their own special events.

Those who attend will enjoy samples from more than 50 restaurants, breweries (including local celebrity Captain Lawrence), wineries and bakeries for two to three tickets, which will be sold in strips of 5 for $20.

Additionally, famous chefs such as David Burke, Rafael Palomino, Missy Chase Lapine, Ken Arnone and David Dibari will host demonstrations and book-signings.

There will also be giveaways, contests and six hours of musical performances for this free all-day event.

Family-friendly activities will be available for children including healthy snacks and fun activities.

A portion of all proceeds will be given to The Food Bank of Westchester and other local charities for people in need in Westchester County.
