The horror/thriller is part of a block of short films starting called "Westchester Wednesday Shorts Showcase 2" at the YoFi Digital Media Art Center at 66 Main Street in Yonkers.

Mark J. Parker and his husband Greg Clements, who moved to Mamaroneck earlier this year, produced and shot "STICKS" in 2015 in Belfast, ME at Clements' mother's home with a small cast and crew, some of whom are from New York City and the surrounding area.

The cast is lead by Etai Benson, who is currently starring in "The Band's Visit" on Broadway, and Heather Drew, a NJ-based actress and death coach with many independent horror films on her resume.

Parker, who is also an on-camera acting teacher at Artistree Performing Arts in Mamaroneck and a casting director at ABC, first got the idea for a feature-length script in 2006 after going on a road trip to a house in the Pennsylvania woods.

He wrote, directed and produced "STICKS" and hopes, after he completes a few more shorts, to shoot the feature film version of "STICKS" in the not so distant future.

Running at just over 17 minutes, Parker's movie tells the story of four college-aged friends reuniting on a summer night at a house in the woods. As they tell scary stories around the campfire, the line between imagination and reality blurs, and they get the feeling they may not be alone.

"STICKS" has screened at more than 30 North American film festivals and will be available to stream in 2018 after its festival run has ended.

Tickets for the showcase, which starts at 8 p.m. are $10 and can be purchased online at: www.yofifest.com/westchester-shorts-2.

A different short film showcase featuring work from filmmakers with a Westchester connection will screen earlier in the evening at 6 p.m.
