NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- During STEM classes, first- and second-grade boys and girls at Trinity Elementary School in New Rochelle were challenged to build a tower out of straws.
It was a struggle in the beginning trying to connect the straws together but they were able to figure out a technique. They were later allowed to use a strip of tape, which made it a bit easier -- as long as they could make that strip of tape last.
After trying different ways to make their towers as tall as they could, there was one winning team: Sebastian R. and Ayden R took first place. Second place went to Miki B, Nathan B, Kayla I. and Jayson C. Third Place went to Cori A. and Davyne D.
