The singer, actress, minister and talk show hostess starred in the CBS hit series "Touched by an Angel" for nine seasons. She received nominations for the Emmy Awards, the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild Awards for her role as Tess.
Following a musical career that included several albums and hits such as "And That Reminds Me" and "Don't You Know," Reese transitioned into an acting career. Reese appeared on various shows for decades, including "The Mod Squad," Chico and the Man," "The A-Team" and more.
She became the first black woman to host a talk and variety show in 1969. "Della" ran for 197 episodes between 1969 and 1970.
She was nominated for a gospel music Grammy Award in 1987.
