Girls Can Learn Coding At New Rochelle Library During February Break

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Hey Girls, want to learn how to code a website?

All girls in grades six to 10 are invited to take part in Selfie Image, a computer science class from Feb. 17-28 at the New Rochelle Public Library, where they will learn to code and host their own website. The class, presented by Rhea Dedhia, a senior at Pelham Memorial High School is the founder and instructor for the school's computer science club, will also address self-image issues that girls and young woman face today.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a host of goodies including a smart phone wallet, ear buds, an Intel pen and more.

The library is at 1s Library Plaza. The program is made possible through a grant from the National Center for Women in Technology.
