NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Westchester County Legislator Jim Maisano helped his hometown New Rochelle get into the holiday spirit over the weekend at his annual Toys for Tots event.
For more than a decade, Maisano, a Marine Corps veteran, and his family team with the Westchester Marine Corps League and U.S. Marine Corps Reserve around the holidays to assist some of the most disenfranchised members of the community.
On Saturday, the Maisano family took over Dudley’s for an afternoon, collecting dozens of unwrapped toys and gifts from members of the community that will be distributed among children throughout Westchester, including a sizable donation to Hope Community Services in New Rochelle.
For his role in the annual Toys for Tots event, Maisano earned the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Commander Award for his “generous contributions that have enabled the Marine Corps to bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children.”
