NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — The New Rochelle ArtsFest in New Rochelle and Pelham, and the New Rochelle farmers market are some of the events planned for the weekend.
Friday, Sept. 21
New Rochelle Farmers Market: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Purchase fresh produce and baked goods and see cooking demonstrations at this weekly market, which continues through the fall. New Rochelle Public Library green, One Library Plaza. New Rochelle.
New Rochelle League of Women Voters Event: 9:30 a.m. New Rochelle residents will get an opportunity to hear from and talk with New Rochelle Planning Director Eleanor Sharpe about the city's comprehensive plan, and how they can help shape it. The New Rochelle League of Women Voters hosts the event, held at New Rochelle City Hall, room B-1. 515 North Ave., New Rochelle.
The league usually hosts weekly coffee and conversation events during this time, but has canceled them because of construction at the New Rochelle Public Library.Saturday, Sept. 22
The 2012 New Rochelle ArtsFest kicks off with many happenings at 32 venues in New Rochelle and Pelham.
New Rochelle ArtsFest Charles W. Dickerson Fife, Drum and Bugle Corps Performance: 11 a.m. Residents can watch the band march to Lincoln Park, where a festival of dance, music, arts, crafts and food will be held. Lincoln Park, Prince Street and Lincoln Avenue, New Rochelle.
New Rochelle ArtsFest Drum Performance: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Hear 20 drummers play on a variety of percussion instruments in an event hosted by drum facilitator Damon Jackson. Children ages 6 and older can also enjoy stories read by New Rochelle Council on the Arts member Jeani Miller. Lincoln Park, Lincoln Ave., New Rochelle.
ArtFest attendees can also visit a marketplace where authors Inga Watkins, Henry May and Linda Tarrant-Reid will sign copies of their books. Food will be provided by Chef El-Amin and D’Chef of Neil’s Café. Jewelry by Filigree and Lisa Ray, and natural beauty products by Phylicia Henry will also be available for purchase. Lincoln Park. New Rochelle ArtsFest Dance Workshops: Noon to 6 p.m. Residents can participate in dance workshops by Kyra Johnson’s New Beginnings Dance Company. Attendees can also view a film on bullying, and a photography exhibit. Bethesda Baptist Church, 71 Lincoln Ave., New Rochelle.
New Rochelle ArtsFest Lincoln Avenue Festival: Noon to 6 p.m. Shiloh Baptist Church hosts an afternoon of performing, visual and culinary arts. Shiloh Baptist Church, 185 Lincoln Ave., New Rochelle.
New Rochelle ArtsFest Trolley Stops: All day. The New Rochelle ArtsFest Culture Trolley will make stops at Memorial Highway and Lincoln Avenue and in front of Bethesda Baptist Church during the festival. Visit the festival website (click below) or call 914-576-7150.
New Rochelle ArtsFest "Concept Cube" Art Exhibit: 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. New Rochelle High School Class of 2009 graduates Jesus Baez and Rebecca Mills will showcase their “Concept Cube” art exhibit at the Museum of Arts and Culture in the new wing of the high school. New Rochelle ArtsFest Pelham Art Center Music In The Courtyard: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Pelham Arts Center provides music in its courtyard as part of the ArtsFest. Attendees can also view the center’s "Anywhere But Here" art exhibit. Pelham Art Center, 155 Fifth Ave. Pelham.

The New Rochelle ArtsFest continues for its second day.
New Rochelle ArtsFest College of New Rochelle Castle Gallery Art Reception: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The College of New Rochelle holds a reception for its “In Retrospect" Exhibit. College of New Rochelle, 29 Castle Place, New Rochelle.
New Rochelle ArtsFest 2012 At Pelham Arts Center: 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Westchester Harp Ensemble visits the Pelham Art Center as part of the ArtsFest. 155 Fifth Ave., Pelham.
Pelham Farmers Market: 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first-year Pelham Farmers Market offers produce, breads, pastry, wine and specialty products. Harmon Avenue off Fifth Avenue, Pelham.
