Monday, Aug. 6
New Rochelle Public Library Kids Crafts: 10:30 a.m.-noon. Barnard School teacher Debbie Rosario helps children 5-12 years old make projects to take home. New Rochelle Public Library, One Library Plaza.
Tuesday, Aug. 7
Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library Bookstore: 1 p.m.-3 p.m. The organization holds its biweekly sale in the back of the first floor of the library. Books and other items will be for sale. New Rochelle Public Library, One Library Plaza.
New Rochelle City Council Meeting: 5 p.m. The governing body will hold a special meeting to continue discussions on a variety of items. New Rochelle City Hall Council Conference Room or New Rochelle City Hall Council Chambers, 515 North Ave.
New Rochelle School District Meeting: 7 p.m. The board will hold a public hearing on proposed revisions to the code of conduct. The board will then meet in the Carew Room in a committee of the whole session to give announcements and hear a report from Superintendent Richard Organisciak that includes information on the 2011-12 Preliminary ELA/Math Data Report for grades three to eight. The board also will discuss special-education legislation, a Larchmont tax-exemption request, the citizens advisory committee, and review additional draft resolutions. The board then meets at 7:30 p.m. in the boardroom for its regular meeting. New Rochelle City Hall, second floor, Central Administration, 515 North Ave.
Wednesday, Aug. 8
New Rochelle Emil Paolucci Summer Sounds Concert Series: 7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. The New Rochelle Opera, co-sponsored by Metro-Med, presents four singers offering favorite selections from opera, operetta and Broadway. There will be no rain date if the concert is canceled due to weather. Hudson Park Bandshell, Hudson Park, New Rochelle.
Thursday, Aug. 9
New Rochelle Yard Waste Collection: 7 a.m.-8 a.m. The New Rochelle Department of Public Works picks up trash from a designated location in the city.
