Monday, July 30

New Rochelle Public Library Kids Crafts: 10:30 a.m.-noon. Barnard School teacher Debbie Rosario helps children 5-12 years old make projects to take home. New Rochelle Public Library, One Library Plaza.

Tuesday, July 31

Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library Bookstore: 1 p.m.-3 p.m. The organization holds its biweekly sale in the back of the first floor of the library. Books and other items will be for sale. New Rochelle Public Library, One Library Plaza.

New Rochelle WFAN All-Stars Celebrity Softball Game: 6 p.m. Team warmups are at 5:30 p.m. Pregame ceremony is at 6:15 p.m. The nine-inning, slow-pitch softball game pits former New Rochellean and WFAN morning anchor Craig Carton, his co-host, Boomer Esiason, and the WFAN All Stars against the New Rochelle Celebrities, coached by College of New Rochelle Athletic Director Harold Crocker and including Mayor Noam Bramson, City Manager Chuck Strome and participating players on teams within the New Rochelle Parks and Recreation Adult Softball League. Celebrity guests include Daryl Strawberry, Bernie Williams, Anthony Mason and more. New Rochelle City Park, Fifth Avenue at Portsman Road. New Flowers (City) Park athletic complex. Post-game food and beverages, 8:30 p.m.–10:30 p.m. at Spectators Pub, North Avenue.

Wednesday, Aug. 1

New Rochelle Emil Paolucci Summer Sounds Concert Series: 7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. The Virgil Scott Big Band plays a tribute to the big-band era in memory of Emil Paolucci. There will be no rain date if the concert is canceled due to weather. Hudson Park Bandshell, Hudson Park, New Rochelle.

Thursday, Aug. 2

New Rochelle Downtown BID Music on the Green: 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. The third show of this concert series features the 16-piece Pantonic Steel Band Orchestra. New Rochelle Public Library Green. One Library Plaza.

New Rochelle Yard Waste Collection: 7 a.m.-8 a.m. The New Rochelle Department of Public Works collects yard waste from both sides of Eastchester Road, Beechmont Drive and Barnard Road, to the south side of Quaker Ridge Road.
