NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — A neighborhood walking event and the New Rochelle farmers market are some of the events planned for the weekend.

Friday, Sept. 7

New Rochelle Farmers Market: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Purchase fresh produce and baked goods and see cooking demonstrations at this weekly market, which continues through the fall. New Rochelle Public Library green, One Library Plaza.

Saturday, Sept. 8

New Rochelle Public Library Open: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. The library resumes its fall hours. New Rochelle Public Library. One Library Plaza.

Pelham Women’s AA: 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. The Alcoholics Anonymous meeting will take place at Christ Church, 1415 Pelhamdale Ave., Pelham.

Sunday, Sept. 9

New Rochelle Walks: 8 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.  Residents of all ages and abilities are welcome at the city’s first event to encourage exercise. The event is another step in the city’s sustainability plan to grow economically and become more environmentally friendly. Meet in the rear parking lot of New Rochelle City Hall for the event, which runs from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m., or register online before 2 p.m. Friday. Residents interested in forming or joining walking groups may register on Facebook after the event.

New Rochelle Public Library Open: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. The library resumes its fall hours. New Rochelle Public Library. One Library Plaza.

Huguenot Children’s Library Closed: The Huguenot Children’s Library is closed. Huguenot Children’s Library. 794 Davenport Ave.

Pelham Farmers Market: 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first-year Pelham Farmers Market offers produce, breads, pastry, wine and specialty products. Harmon Avenue off Fifth Avenue, Pelham.
