Monday, Aug. 13

Kids Crafts at the Library: 10:30 a.m.-noon. Barnard School teacher Debbie Rosario helps children 5-12 years old make projects to take home. New Rochelle Public Library, One Library Plaza.

Tuesday, Aug. 14

End-Of-Summer Program Library Party: 2 p.m.–3 p.m. Children ages 2-5 can make music, sing songs and enjoy entertainer Kurt Gallagher at this event for children who have completed the Summer Reading Game. Certificates and gifts will be awarded following the lively show. New Rochelle Public Library. Ossie Davis Theater, One Library Plaza.

Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library Bookstore: 1 p.m.-3 p.m. The organization holds its biweekly sale in the back of the first floor of the library. Books and other items will be for sale. New Rochelle Public Library, One Library Plaza.

New Rochelle Planning Board Meeting: 7:30 p.m. The board meets to discuss a request by Sound Shore Medical Center to build an office building and parking garage near the center’s site at 16 Guion Place. The board has rescheduled the meeting for Tuesday after having to cancel it July 31 due to prior commitments of its members. New Rochelle City Hall, Annex Room B-1, 90 Beaufort Place.

Wednesday, Aug. 15

New Rochelle Emil Paolucci Summer Sounds Concert Series: 7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. The How Time Dance Band plays everything danceable, including Motown, R&B, soul, funk, classic disco, pop, dance rock and jazz. There will be no rain date if the concert is canceled due to weather. Hudson Park Bandshell, Hudson Park, New Rochelle.

New Rochelle End-Of-Summer Reading Program Party: 2 p.m.–3 p.m. Children in grades one through five can imagine themselves on the open seas when Pirate School pays a visit to this culmination to the library’s end-of-summer reading program. The school involves itself with the audience with magic, original music, props and other antics. After the event, certificates will be presented to all who successfully completed the Summer Reading Game. New Rochelle Public Library, Ossie Davis Theater, One Public Library Plaza.

Thursday, Aug. 16

New Rochelle Yard Waste Collection: 7 a.m.-8 a.m. The New Rochelle Department of Public Works picks up yard waste from a designated location in the city.
