Take Part In Black History Spoken Word, Art Exhibit In New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Submissions are being sought in New Rochelle for the annual Black History Spoken Word & Art Exhibit Celebrating Freedom & Activism: Commemorating the Life, Work and Legacy of Ruby Dee.

Students in grades K-12 in all schools in the City School District of New Rochelle are invited to participate. Categories are Dance and Song, Visual Art, and Poetry and Drama.

This is an opportunity to showcase student creativity, talent, and celebrate the life work of actor and human rights activist Ruby Dee.

There is an opening reception at the Whitney M. Young Auditorium, New Rochelle High School, Saturday, Feb. 27, at 4 p.m.
