Every part of the Shabbat service will be performed by women, in celebration of the strides Jewish women have made. Johnna Freud will also be honored with the Woman of the Year award.
Freud has been a part of the GHC family for many years, joining the group's front office in 2013 as vice president for programming. Before then, she helped with Hanukkah dinners, various holiday cleanups, taking photos and Israel Day parades. Freud's work has earned her an invitation to GHC's Membership Committee.
The resident of Stamford, Conn. also works as the director of Development and Community Engagement for Jewish Family Service, covering its fundraising efforts.
GHC has more than 300 member families in its congregation from the Rivertowns, Scarsdale, Hartsdale, White Plains, New Rochelle and Yonkers.
It is at 515 Broadway in Dobbs Ferry.
