New Rochelle Dancers Can Learn To Swing At JCC

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – The Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Mid-Westchester will host a six-week Swing Dance class at 999 Wilmot Road on the New Rochelle-Scarsdale line for adults with basic experience.

From 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. beginning Oct. 16 and running through Nov. 20, classes will be held Tuesday nights at the JCC Dance School.

Participants will practice East Coast swing footwork and patterns in the sophisticated class. They will also learn the techniques to execute the Jitterbug and Lindy Hop.

Classes will be taught by New York City swing instructor Spencer Weisbond, who has studied dance extensively with four-time world champion and eight-time American champion Nathalie Gomes. He teaches at the JCC in Manhattan, the YMCA and at a local dance studio. He also organizes the New York City Swing Dance Meet-up Group.
